IVF Acupuncture Clinic in Tampa, FL

By Dr. Josh Hanson, DACM at Hanson Complete Wellness

Dr. Josh Hanson, DACM works with patients in the Greater Tampa, FL Area who are interested in IVF acupuncture to complement in-vitro fertilization treatment. As a natural fertility specialist with a focus on women’s health, I understand the difficult and stressful journey couples take in their efforts to conceive. There are many factors that can affect fertility including stress, environmental factors, lifestyle, and health issues such as endometriosis, PCOS and even age-related fertility issues. Many patients have tried everything to become pregnant for months or even years before resorting to IVF in an effort to have a baby. My goal is to help you grow your family. I also help single women and same sex couples who seek out IVF and Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) like IUI.

How it works

IVF acupuncture has been proven to increase the success of IVF and to reduce stress which is important when undergoing treatment. In addition, acupuncture improves blood flow to the uterus and is believed to impact the quality of eggs. A receptive reproductive environment improves pregnancy success rates for women who choose in-vitro fertilization. IVF procedures are costly, so it makes sense to do anything that improves success rates to the greatest extent possible. An integrated approach incorporating the best of traditional Western medicine and natural or “holistic” medicine often produces the best outcome.

Success Rates

For the past 5 years I have tracked the success of 100’s of couples who have received acupuncture for fertility and as of 2020 my current success rate is: 59%.

Natural fertility doctors have many theories when it comes to how or why IVF acupuncture works, but studies have proven that women who have acupuncture therapy become pregnant more often with IVF than those who do not.

A recent study done in America showed that women who received an average of 12 acupuncture treatments before their egg retrieval and another 6-12 treatments before their transfer had a 61.8% success rate, which is well above the average of ~30-35% success with IVF alone. In a study conducted in Germany in 2002, 42.5% of 80 women who received acupuncture became pregnant compared to only 26.3% of the remaining 80 women who did not receive acupuncture treatments. Other studies have also supported the effectiveness of acupuncture for IVF.

Rather than treating symptoms, our focus is to get your body as healthy as possible. This means making the healthiest eggs, the healthiest uterine lining, the healthiest sperm, reducing stress, and optimizing blood flow. This gives your body the absolute best chance possible at a successful IVF transfer.
