During this time, we deliver 4 targeted MicroAcupuncture treatments per session, focusing on stimulating specific acupuncture points to support eye health and potentially improve visual fields and acuity and reverse vision loss.

We start with a comprehensive baseline assessment, including a visual field scan and visual acuity testing using an eye chart. This helps us track your progress accurately from the outset. Each day, you’ll receive the 4 MicroAcupuncture treatments, with fine needles placed exclusively in the hands and feet—absolutely no needles are inserted in or around the eyes. We perform follow-up visual field scans daily to monitor improvements in real time.

Frequently Asked Questions About MicroAcupuncture for Eye and Vision Conditions

Yes, we use a comination of  the MicroAcupuncture systems that were pioneered by Per Otte and Freddy Dahlgren along with newer more advanced techniques called AcuNova. These systems are all based on the ECIWO acupuncture system pioneered by Dr. Zhang, MD out of China. Dr. Hanson has been using these acupuncture systems over the last 10+ years and has further refined them to improve your outcomes.

70% of patients notice their vision seems brighter, objects are clearer, and/or their visual field is increasing.

The specific styles of Acupuncture we use does 2 things.

1) Stimulates optic nerve cells and wakes up dormant retinal cells. 

2) Increase blood circulation to the eye. 

By increasing circulation to these much needed eye vessels, this will in turn bring oxygen-rich blood to diseased cells.  As the blood begins to nourish the cells, it has the added benefit of decreasing inflammation and reducing oxidative stress.

I wish it was possible to help ever single person with vision problems but that is unrealistic. I have found that 70% of patients respond to treatment and receive significant positive benefits.

We perform both visual field testing and visual acuity testing before, during and after your treatment. So we can see progress as it’s happening during the treatment process.
