What is prolotherapy?
Prolotherapy is the original regenerative injection for painful conditions like back pain, knee pain, hip pain, shoulder pain, foot/ankle pain, elbow pain and wrist pain. It’s been in use for about 100 years and has been well studied and proven to be very effective.
What’s in a prolotherapy injection?
At my prolotherapy clinic in Tampa, FL, I use a time tested combination of dextrose (a type of sugar), which acts as an irritant solution to restart the regenerative healing process. We can dial up or dial down the amount of dextrose based on the area (joint, tendon, ligament, nerve) and our specific goals. Most major areas can be treated for around $300 per treatment. We generally recommend a series of 4-6 treatments spaced out every 2-4 weeks. When you come in for your initial visit, Dr. Hanson will give you a specific number of treatments based on your physical findings.
